Sammy Seal flopped onto a smooth, shiny rock and whoosh! — slid straight into the sparkling water with a giant, joyful splash!
“Wheee! Again!” He waddled back up, flippers slapping happily, and slid down once more, giggling louder each time.
Slide after slide, Sammy had the best time ever — until he noticed something. A little walrus, a shy penguin, and a bouncy otter stood nearby, watching quietly, shifting their flippers, clearly waiting for their turn.
Sammy’s tummy gave a small, thoughtful flutter. They want to slide too… and I’ve been sliding all by myself.
He waddled over with a warm, friendly smile. “Want to slide with me?”
Their eyes lit up instantly, sparkling with excitement. “Really? Yes, please!”
Sammy lined everyone up along the rock. “Okay — one at a time, so everybody gets a turn!”
One by one, they slid down — whoosh, splash! whoosh, splash! — each animal cheering louder and happier than the last.
“Slide, slide, hooray!” they sang together, waddling back up again and again, taking turns without a single squabble.
Sammy laughed, splashing joyfully among his new friends. Sliding alone had been fun… but sliding together, taking turns? That felt like magic.
Because sharing turns made the fun last so much longer.
Lesson: Taking turns makes fun last longer.
