Plip, plop, plip! Raindrops began to fall, and Remy Raccoon looked up with wide, worried eyes. “Oh no — no umbrella!”
The rain fell faster, splashing cold drops onto his fur. Remy hunched his shoulders and shivered, feeling grumpy and a little sorry for himself.
Then something caught his eye — a giant leaf resting nearby, wide and green. An idea sparked, bright as sunshine breaking through clouds!
He scooped it up and plopped it right on his head. “A hat!” he cheered, twirling in a puddle as the leaf kept the raindrops away.
Nearby, Hazel Hedgehog spotted him and gasped. “That’s brilliant!” She grabbed her own leaf and perched it proudly on her prickles.
One by one, more animals joined in — a bunny, a squirrel, even a shy little mouse — each topped with their very own leafy hat.
Soon, the whole group marched together through the rain, splashing through puddles and singing, “Leaf hats, leaf hats, keeping us dry!”
What started as one worried, soggy raccoon had turned into a splashy, joyful parade.
Remy beamed, warm with pride despite the rain. A tiny idea had solved a big problem — and turned a gloomy day into one everyone would remember.
Lesson: A small idea can solve a big problem.
