Penguin’s Sunny Boots

Penny Penguin waddled outside on a bright, sunny morning, proudly wearing her favorite yellow rain boots. They squeaked cheerfully with every step.

“Rain boots? But it’s sunny!” giggled a bunny, nudging her friend.

“Silly Penny!” a little bird chirped, fluttering overhead.

Penny’s cheeks warmed. For a moment, she almost wanted to hide her boots. But instead, she lifted her chin and kept waddling, squeak by squeak. “I like my boots,” she said. “They make me me.

The animals shrugged and skipped ahead — until they froze at the edge of a bubbling stream cutting straight across the path.

“Oh no,” gasped the bunny. “How do we get across?”

The animals shuffled nervously, unsure. But Penny didn’t hesitate for a second. She marched right into the water — splish, splash! — Her boots keep her toasty and dry.

“Follow me!” she called, holding out a flipper with a confident smile.

One by one, her friends tiptoed across behind her, safe and dry, thanks to Penny’s brave, squeaky boots.

“Your boots are amazing!” the bunny cheered.

Penny beamed proudly. Because what made her different wasn’t silly at all — it made her brave.

Lesson: What makes you different can become a strength.
