Bobo Bear had one important job — to guard the berry basket for the forest picnic. Easy, right?
But the berries smelled so sweet, so juicy, so impossible to resist… and before he even realized it — munch, munch, MUNCH — the basket sat completely empty.
Bobo froze, staring down at his purple-stained paws. “Uh-oh.”
His tummy twisted with worry. What if his friends were upset? Quickly, he shoved the empty basket behind a bush and tried to look casual.
But moments later, Rosie Rabbit hopped over, tail wiggling. “Bobo! Where are the berries?”
Bobo’s heart pounded. He opened his mouth to say “I don’t know”… but the words wouldn’t come out. Instead, he took a deep, wobbly breath.
“I… I ate them. All of them. I’m really sorry.”
Rosie blinked. Then she burst into giggles. “Bobo, that’s okay! Let’s just pick more!”
Relief washed over him like sunshine. Grinning, Bobo led his friends straight to the berry bushes, and together, they filled the basket twice as full.
It turned out to be the best picnic yet — because telling the truth made everything sweeter.
Lesson: Telling the truth helps friends solve problems together.
